What Is Cleanable Guillotine Glass and How Does It Work?
Cleanable guillotine glass is the version of a standard guillotine system fitted with a removable or inward-tilting mechanism so the panels can be cleaned from inside. On upper floors and wherever the façade is hard to reach, the outer face of the glass can be washed safely from within the building.
The only difference from a standard guillotine system is the track. An inner-outer double track or a telescopic track lets the panel be lifted out or tilted inwards. Glass and profile specifications are identical: 6–10 mm tempered glass and 6063-T5 grade aluminium profiles.
Cleaning Access
With the panel tilted in or lifted off its track, the glass surface is reached with an ordinary cloth and cleaner. On upper floors this removes the need to hire an access crew or install a façade-cleaning system.

The Same Mechanism Options
The lifting mechanism can be spring-assisted, hydraulically damped or motorised, exactly as on the standard system. Glass thickness, profile grade and wind resistance match the standard model.
The Difference in Sealing
The cleanable model is rated IP55, the standard guillotine system IP65. The gap is the natural consequence of a removable panel connection; in normal rain both systems keep water out.

How Is the Price of Cleanable Guillotine Glass Set?
The price cannot be quoted from a ready list; dimensions, glass type, mechanism and installation conditions differ in every project. Because of the track construction the system costs somewhat more than a standard guillotine installation.

How does it differ from standard guillotine glass?
The only difference is the track and panel connection. On the cleanable model an inner-outer double track or a telescopic track lets the panels be lifted out or tilted inwards. Glass thickness, profile grade, wind resistance and every other property are the same.
Do I need a special tool to clean the glass?

Does frequent removal wear the mechanism out?
The mechanism is designed for repeated removal and refitting, with stainless steel components. Seating the panel properly back into the track still matters, so we give a handover briefing on delivery. Cleaning a few times a year has no effect on the system’s life.
